LASURA EXTENDS ADVOCACY TO OTTO/OTUMARA COMMUNITIES ON LAGOS REGENERATION PLAN

In continuation of its sensitisation of residents of communities where project sites are located, the Lagos State Urban Renewal Agency (LASURA) has paid a visit to Otto and Otumara Communities in Lagos Mainland Local Government Area.

Speaking during the engagement with the residents of the community, the General Manager of LASURA, Tpl.  Ajibike Shomade, said the visit was aimed at seeking the support and cooperation of the residents towards preparation for the execution of the government’s regeneration plans in the communities.

Shomade, represented by Tpl. Adebola Owokade, Director of Research Statistics and Evaluation at the Agency, assured the residents of the massive development and infrastructures coming to the communities which will attract both local and foreign investors.

She solicited the support of His Royal Highness, Oba Alaiyeluwa Bashir Abisoye Odesanya, the Oloto of Otto Land and the Baale of Otumara, High Chief Kehinde Kalejaiye, in ensuring continuity in governance through the re-election of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Responding, the Oloto of Otto, HRM, Oba Bashir Abisoye, represented by the Aro of Mainland, High Chief Jubril Oloto, assured the Lagos State Government that the people of Otto will not compromise their heritage. 

“We will go all out to ensure continuity in government. I also encourage all government workers to support the Governor of Lagos State by voting for the re-election of Babajide Sanwo-Olu”, he said.

On his part, the Baale of Otumara, High Chief Kehinde Kalejaye appreciated the state government for its proposed regeneration plan for his community, promising to personally canvass for the re-election of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in his area.
