LASG PRIORITISES IGBO-OLOMU COMMUNITY, OTHERS FOR ROAD REHABILITATION

The Lagos State Government has stated that road rehabilitation in Igbo Olomu Community in the Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area is included in the priority road projects within Ikorodu Local Government Area to be executed by the State.

The General Manager of LASURA, Tpl. Ajibike Shomade made this known during an engagement held on Monday, with residents and stakeholders of the Community

Shomade, who was represented by the Director of Research, Statistics and Evaluation in the Agency, Tpl. Adebola Owokade, said, in response to the request of the community for government intervention, the Governor has directed the inspection and feasibility study of the area, among others, for road rehabilitation.

Shomade further stated that the good intention of the State Government for the people of Igbo-Olomu community can only come to fruition if Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is re-elected. He reiterated that a change in government hinders project completion in most cases.

The General Manager also pleaded with the residents to support the contractor that would be awarded the project by ensuring that construction materials are not looted.

Earlier in his remarks, the Araba of Igbo-Olomu, High Chief Fakayode Adetola stated that the people of Igbo-Olomu are committed to ensuring the re-election of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as part of their efforts to appreciate him for his kind gesture.

The High Chief pleaded with the government to mount the proposed project billboard at the junction of the community so that the residents can be convinced of the government’s readiness to carry out the rehabilitation plan.

The President of Igbo-Olomu Community Development Council, Mr. Jimoh Ismail, commended the Lagos State Government for attending to their request, promising that the community members will go all out to re-elect Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the forthcoming gubernatorial election as a show of gratitude.
