TPL. FAIDAT AJIBIKE SHOMADE-GENERAL MANAGER

Tpl. Shomade was born in the early 60s in Lagos Island. She is the child of late Hon. Kolawole Kasheef Shomade, who was a legal practitioner and served a single term as a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly between 1979-1983, represented Lagos Island while her mother was from Erogbogbo family in Ikorodu.

Shomade, described as the unseen Town Planner of the Modern Lagos by her colleagues, before her appointment as the General Manager of LASURA, she served the Lagos State Government for 35years, retiring in 2018 as the General Manager property and Land Management at the Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC).

She was primarily responsible for the preparing and implementing of the layouts of all the Housing Estates in Lagos built between 1983 and 2018. Some of those Estate include: Dolphin Estate; Ijaye Housing Estate phase 1-4; Femi Okuunu Estate phase 1-4 among many others.

At a time in Lagos when LSDPC Lands were illegally occupied by private individuals, many of which were on the verge of becoming slums; Shomade led a team to ensure qualified occupiers received titles for their property. Her effort and those of her colleagues helped to considerably shore up the revenue of Lagos State Government. 

Tpl. Shomade holds a Masters of Business Administration Degree in Management Marketing from the Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso, a higher National Diploma in Town and Regional Planning from the Lagos State Polytechnic and a registered member of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (MNITP).

In her over three decades of service, she had acquired rare skills and capabilities in leadership, urban planning, and land and property management.
